You deal directly with the Owners at Larry Taylor Construction for fast and courteous communications throughout the construction process. Most of our Subcontractors and Suppliers have been with us for many years which has created an atmosphere of trust and bonding that produces a caring, careful approach to their work. We lead our Customers through the process with attention to detail and planning starting with custom construction plans, then the design process of selecting the many finishes and colors involved in building a new home. A detailed Construction Schedule is prepared and held to before and after starting work.

Our engineered homes are built to last, they are concrete block constructed at first and second story levels with all exterior decks being constructed of concrete. With the Icynene attic insulation, the closed attic stays within 8 degrees of the interior home temperature eliminating sweating air conditioning ducting. The 100% acrylic exterior paint is rolled onto the walls for maximum coverage, many of our Clients have said that their exterior paint has lasted 15 years! The windows and sliding doors have low E glass for energy savings and are impact rated. Solid core 8′ tall mdf interior doors come in many different styles. Zoned, variable speed air conditioning makes for excellent energy ratings and quiet cooling. All of the interior and exterior finishes are customized to our Customer’s liking, we will build your new dream home exactly the way you want it.

We have a no punch out policy, meaning we strive to have every detail completed before turning over the home. If there is a slight problem with your home, it is addressed immediately not days or weeks later. We usually don’t hear from our Customers, now our Friends, until they invite us over for dinner!

Typical Larry Taylor Construction Inc. Features:

  • Building permit & impact fees included.
  • 10” x 10” concrete pilings up to 16’ in length under foundation, slab, steps & swimming pool.
  • Engineered 16” x 16” steel reinforced 3000 psi concrete foundation, concrete block stem walls with fill, 5” concrete slab with interior grade beams over treated fill and 6 mill visqueen vapor barrier, floor slab has #3 steel mat, 8” concrete block exterior walls at first story & at second story (if applicable) with concrete tie beams that have truss straps embedded. All exterior decks & steps at all levels are concrete. Brushed concrete sidewalk at right of way.
  • Lumber touching concrete is pressure treated. Interior wood studs 16” on center. Fascia has 2 x 6 sub fascia with 2 x 8 and 1 x 4 S4S cedar primed all sides, 5/8” roof plywood, ceilings have 1 x 4 stripping for added strength. If 2 story home, the second floor can be epicore concrete or 3/4″ tongue & groove plywood screwed & glued to 16” on center floor trusses.
  • Plumbing to have PEX Uponor water piping for long lasting durability. Undermount china bathroom lavs, undermount stainless steel or cast iron kitchen sink. Gas tankless water heaters as needed or two electric water heaters. Cast iron laundry sink, 4 hose bibbs with vacuum breaker, 1” pvc water service to home and to sea wall. Plumbing fixtures as per Owner’s selections.
  • Electrical to be copper wiring with 400 amp service. Décor switches & outlets. Light fixtures and ceiling fans as selected by Owner. Dimmers at most interior lights. LED under cabinet strip lighting at upper cabinets. Recess cans have LED bulbs. Security system with two touch screens, structural wiring with cat5 telecom outlets & cat5 – rg6 dual media outlets as shown on plans. Sub panel for swimming pool, spa and dock.
  • Self adhering roof membrane applied directly to plywood deck with color through concrete roof tiles which have two screws per tile plus adhesive foam at laps for added strength.
  • 19 seer Carrier high efficiency air conditioning units with heat. Range hood, dryer & bath exhaust ducted to exterior.
  • R5.0 3/4″ rigid insulation applied to inside of exterior walls with R30 open cell Icynene applied to bottom of roof deck. Using a sealed attic with Icynene foam insulation keeps the attic temperature within 8 degrees of the living area temperature and greatly reduces the heat load on the air conditioning ducting. Interior walls insulated at bedrooms for sound control.
  • PGT thermopane, low E, tinted impact windows and sliding doors.
  • Exterior walls have light textured or smooth stucco finish. Interior walls have 1/2″ drywall, ceilings are 5/8” drywall, with light troweled finish. Exterior soffits are stucco.
  • Exterior paint is two coats of Sherwin Williams 100 percent acrylic Super Paint rolled, not sprayed. Interior wall paint is flat washable latex, one coat of primer & two coats of paint. Woodwork paint is oil based egg shell finish.
  • Timberland SL solid core 8’ interior doors, 1 3/8” or 1 3/4″. Wood 7 1/4″ base boards & 3 1/2” casing. Crown molding & ceiling treatments such as tongue & groove cypress, boxed beams as per Customer selections.
  • Exterior doors & garage doors are rated for impact.
  • Wood slatted shelving in closets(solid in pantry). Custom closet cabinetry available.
  • Custom built interior cabinets have plywood boxes, raised panel doors in paint glaze or stain glaze finish, full extension drawer undermounts and dovetail drawer boxes. Soft closing solid wood drawers & doors.
  • Counters are granite, quartz or quartzite, slabs selected by Owner.
  • Concrete swimming pool, spa, heat pump with Jandy controls. Can have chlorine or salt water system. Swimming pool to have custom design. Pool deck and coping is modular stone. Mansard aluminum screen enclosure or rear yard fencing.
  • Appliances can vary greatly. We set up a meeting at the appliance showroom to go over all available options.
  • Aluminum powder coated railings with custom design where needed.
  • Emtek door locks.
  • $25,000 allowance for sprinkler system, sod, trees & plants.
  • Frameless shower enclosures.
  • Concrete pavers at driveway and walk to entry door.
  • If gas requested, 500 gallon propane underground gas tank with 3/4″ underground piping.
